About the Book

Poems are personally written by me (Ivellisse!), designed by Kimberly Cho, edited by Jesi Hanley Vega. Includes poems like The Branding ABC’s, Chief Everything Officer and Stories: as well as exercise pages for you to reflect and play.
5% of net sales will be earmarked for bombilla’s small business fund, a scholarship for Black, Brown & Queer emerging entrepreneurs (>2 years old) who seek our branding & design services.

URGE is a non-profit founded by feminist and activist Gloria Steinem aimed to inspire young leaders to advocate for strong communities where reproductive rights and sexual health is prioritized and celebrated.
We collaborated with URGE and Rivera Consulting to develop URGE’s 2020 Strategic Plan. Aimed towards aligning the URGE team and its shareholders towards goals and objectives, we developed the document’s visual language and executed its graphic design. We decided on a colorful layout to draw attention to the content on the pages and celebrate URGE’s bold branding. This design was then applied to other print and web designs, such as the Young People’s Policy Agenda and social media templates.

Creating URGE’s Young People Policy Agenda
The Young People’s Policy Agenda was developed as a brochure for constituents and policymakers to gain further insight into URGE and the changes that would need to be implemented to secure reproductive rights in the United States.

Crafting URGE’s Instagram Templates
Bombilla was also tasked to create template designs for URGE’s Instagram. We developed two concepts, one image-based and the other text-based.

Developing URGE’s Regional Chapter Logos
As URGE continues to establish chapters in different states, they wanted to differentiate each with a distinct wordmark logo. The goal was to develop a logomark that would be distinctive as well as complement the existing URGE logo.

Repping URGE Swag
Fun projects arose from our collaboration with URGE, such as swag development geared towards the importance of voting local and pro-choice awareness. The swag we developed includes water bottle designs, face masks for COVID-19, stickers, t-shirts, and small fabric carry-all pouches.
Five years ago, Bombilla created Racy Conversations' brand identity during it's inception. In celebration of that five year anniversary, Racy Conversations founder Karen Fleshman came to bombilla once again for a brand identity refresh to define its new chapter!
Racy Conversations is an organization whose mission is to create a community of “love, learning, accountability, and action on race in America.”
Founder Karen Fleshman has been invited to speak at panels and events to discuss the importance of empowerment and community for women and ways to end toxic workplace culture regarding race.
Brand Identity Launch for Racy Conversations
During the initial branding conversation, we pinpointed the importance of designing a logo that is bold, passionate, and feminine to celebrate Racy Conversations' values. We agreed that it was important for the new logo wordmark to reflect the original. The new logo sports a sense of boldness and vibrancy with the drybrush typography as well as a tagline to further highlight Racy Conversations' mission. Below is a before and after of the original logo:

When it came to developing the new brand colors, we continued in the same vein of creating a color scheme that evoked boldness, passion, and femininity. We liked how gradients incorporated all three of these elements into one strong look.

We then compiled Racy Conversations' visual identity and best practices into a 10-page branding guidelines booklet. Racy Conversations uses this guide to maintain beautiful visual consistency across all their channels.

A Platform for Anti-Racism
In preparation for the event, we wanted to further integrate the new branding by developing a deck template to be used at the event and during future talks and presentations. Using Racy Conversations' vibrant new colors, we created a bold and fun presentation deck to turn heads and advocate the next antiracist generation.

Business Cards
We also designed brand new business cards to be passed out with pizzazz during networking events. We included a headshot of Karen for people to easily remember and recognize.
